Handcrafted Christmas!!

No really... Im not getting too carried away with all of these fun holiday crafts... It really is too much fun! Here are a few pictures of the DRESS and SWEATER I made Alyse today out of MY old DRESS and SWEATER!! I should've taken more pictures of the making of the sweater, but that project was alot easier than the dress and went alot faster and I forgot to take pics.

This is my dress
I used the cream colored fabric for the base of Alyse's Christmas Dress
This is the sweater I altered
Pinning everything together

I used the couch cushion and my model

Later when Alyse woke from her nap I tried to get her to try it on, but she wouldn't- so I used Grant as my model instead... Sorry- No blackmail pictures- that would be very wrong
The finished front (looks lopsided, but its not)
I gathered it a little to give it some texture!

Prettier in real life... but I pinned it and it has a train all the length of the back- its very elegant

Finished sweater and dress!!

I am thinking of dying the dress Crimson Red!! I think it will be a very beautiful Christmas dress for Alyse!

That was FAST! I can't even picture how you did it! You should take lots of pics next time, people will be wanting you to teach a class!
So awesome Britta!

That is seriously cool. Makes me want to get out my sewing machine and dust it off. I haven't sewed anything in YEARS. I wouldn't have even thought of re-purposing something I don't wear for one of my girls. Brilliant.
